Shop passcode
The passcode keeps passers-by out of the editor. It is not a login: treat this page as public and keep nothing private in it.
The roster
The roster is edited in Square, and the site follows it on every page load. This is what Square says right now. Each barber's entry comes from the Square dashboard, under Staff:
- Display name
- Job title
- Photo
- Prices
- Whether they take online bookings
The one thing Square has no field for is an Instagram account, so that is the one thing set here.
The menu
Add, remove and reword the services the shop offers. Prices are not set here: every barber's prices live in the Square catalog and the booking form reads them from there. The menu page groups these services under three headings:
- Cuts
- Beard & razor
- Combinations
Each service also carries two booking rules. Tick the services it cannot share an appointment with, and the booking page unticks one when a client picks the other. For a combination, tick the services it is made of: a client who ticks every one of them books the combination instead.
Photos
Pick a picture from your phone or computer and it lands in the slot straight away. The editor shrinks it to 1400px for the web, and it goes up with your next save.
Questions clients ask
These are the questions near the foot of the home page, the ones a client opens to read the answer. They are also what search engines and AI assistants quote back when someone asks about the shop, so three things are worth holding to:
- Answer in one to three plain sentences.
- Keep at least five questions here.
- Order matters: the first one sits at the top.
Testimonials
The quotes on the testimonials page, and where to find more. The list under the reviews is the page top to bottom: quotes alternate left and right and the first of every four runs large, so the order is the layout. A quote gets there one of two ways:
- Picked from the shop's reviews on Google, first on this tab. It goes up with Google's coloured G beside the name.
- Written in by hand, for something a client said in the chair.

Pages in the menu
Switch a page off and it drops out of three places:
- The menu behind the corner button.
- The Pages list in the footer.
- The back and next corners, which then step straight over it.
The page itself stays on the site: anyone holding the link still reaches it, and so do search engines.
Shop details
These details sit in the footer of every page:
- The phone number.
- The email.
- The service area line.
The phone number also goes into the data search engines read.
Square
The customer list Square keeps: everyone who books through the site lands there with their name, email and phone number. The roster itself is no longer pushed from here — Square is where barbers, prices and photos are edited, and the site reads them back.
